The Many Adventures of Team Goulet

On our drive to school today:  Nathan: can we get a dog? Me: no Nathan:  when I grow up and have my own house and my own kids in going to wait until everyone is asleep and get them a puppy and a kitty. And put them in a box under the Christmas tree.  Me: that sounds like a great plan  Elijah: *bursts into tears* I JUST REALLY WANT A PUPPY! 

Malachi looked particularly cute today. And I think he's officially a thumb sucker. I can't really stop him from sucking his thumb and he really loves it. He also still hates any kind of pacifier. 

Malachi tried out the jump a roo this week. He fell in love! Now he is happiest standing up while he is awake. 

Baby number 3 was a slight challenge to name.  I wanted a unique name that wasn't too unheard of and was biblical.  Daniel wanted something biblical that had a good meaning .  He must have looked up hundreds of name meanings during my pregnancy! It was very important to him. I fell in love with the name Jericho pretty early.  I thought for sure his name was "Jericho James".  Daniel looked up the name's meaning and Jericho meant "City of the moon." After that, he could never really get on board with it.  But I held on and persisted that this was our baby boy number 3's name. I offered up tons of suggestions as to different names and nothing really stuck.  We liked Judah, but felt like it was getting too popular.  We liked Samson. Then we started to look up the names of biblical prophets. It's amazing to me how much has changed in there few years since i was last pregnant. We have already upgraded our video camera. I bought a super infant car seat that didn't exist 3 years ago. And now....gender reveal parties are all the rage. Of course we had to partake in this new tradition.  Daniel and I went for a sonogram on Thursday morning and had to wait until Friday night to tell the boys if they were having a brother or a sister. We invited some of our friends to celebrate and to stay for a "lawn in" movie outside.  Painting the garage to show the movie on.  Cupcakes with secret filling.  Lots of pink and blue drinks and  food. We took the boys to the iron mine rear my parents house this week. This was a fun afternoon adventure! We learned about mining and took a train about 1/2 mile underground. The whole tour lasted about an hour and it was a nice way to cool off. Inside the mine it was only 38 degrees! 

We had a baby, it's a boy.  I take tons of pictures of him because he's ADORABLE, but I have yet to document anything.  Fast forward 20 years when Malachi asks what he was like as a baby and I give him a blank stare........ I don't have much time these days to retro create posts, but I will some day. Here's all about Malachi at 3 months! Weight: 15lb 7oz (my largest baby) Routine: We have a pretty standard routine as of right now.  Malachi is the last one up in the morning, he is not a fan.  Then he likes to eat every 2-2.5 hours during the day.  On a good day he takes a longer afternoon nap.  He nurses for about 45 minutes at nighttime.  Then, he sleeps. Sleep: HE SLEEPS! He wakes up usually around 5am, last night was 6am.  Then he goes right back down until I force him awake in the morning.  The first month with Malachi was rough at night and now he is a dream!  He also likes to sleep in his rock n' play for night time and his...

It's been Daniels long standing dream to get a family picture in the vining ship that welcomes people to Norway. This week we finally made this dream come true! 

On our final day at grandma's house the boys were burning off some energy by playing cops and robbers full contact style. Looking for a quick distraction I found "Hullabaloo" hidden in the basement. The boys all liked playing and even chanced balancing over the cement on the driveway to play the twister like game. 

I had one mission over spring break...we had to get out of town for at least one day.  We headed 45 minutes away to the Decatur children's museum. It was great! We were there for about 2 hours and my kids were the right age to play on everything yet not be bored. 

i enrolled the boys in Swim lessons this spring. And let me tell you, BEST IDEA EVER. This is what I needed all winter! I have 2 very energetic boys and when they can't play outside....life gets sticky.  Activities are our answers. The boys loved it and both passed their swim levels. I look forward to enrolling then again later this year. 

We had the most beautiful 60 degree day today! We went to a friends house for lunch after church and we are lunch outside. So nice! The kids ran around for a few hours. I took the boys for a run that ended at our neighborhood park. This was our first visit to a park in 2015. The boys had a great time and were TIRED for bed.  As a highlight Elijah was found telling another child that called him "that boy", "I'm not a boy, I'm Elijah!" 

IElijah and I have a new tradition, going out to El Toro for tacos! Turns out that Elijah is as much of a Mexican food lover as I am. :) He eats chips and talks to me.  And he eats one hard shell taco.  And we both love every minute of it.

OOWe got a "surprise"  snowstorm last night. I though it was only going to be 3 inches and it was more like 9 or 10 inches!  We tried to build a snowman or a fort and the snow was not very packable. But we still had fun playing outside!  Elijah loved eating snow Nathan made a snow ruler at school last week and it measured 11 inches in our yard. Daniel got to use the snow thrower.

The boys participated in the age old tradition of Valentine's Day this week. We sat around the table and created valentines for all of their school friends. Nathan's class got to go bowling and ate pizza. Nathan got a strike!! Afterwards, Daniel took Nathan out on a lunch date.  Elijah had a class program and a party. So I took him out on a lunch date afterwards. It felt so weird to only have one child!! 

Here's whats up with Nathan lately Nathan Loves: 1. Watching youtube toy reviews.  These are like watching paint dry to me, but he just loves them.   2. Playing Super Mario Brothers.  Lately he has really started to like playing the wii and specifically Super Mario Brothers.  3. Stories without pictures.  He have read several chapter books together, our favorites were the "Zappato Power" books.  He also likes stories that we make up and tell him.  4. Switch and Go Dinos.  He has slowly been collecting these car and dino combination toys and he loves them.   Nathan Hates: 1. School.  Yep, I said it.  It has nothing to do with the school he attends 2 days a week.  He just hates being forced to listen and to learn.   Daniel picks him up from pre-kindergarten and he tells Daniel, "That was my last day of school ever."  2. Vegetables.  He hates vegetables and is beginning to catch onto my "grind ve...

Here's some about Mr. Elijah as of late. Elijah loves: 1. Being outside!  Every morning like clockwork he waits at the tops of the stairs for me to carry him down.  He sits on the couch and drinks a cup of juice while watching one show.  Then he goes to the backdoor, still in overnight diaper and pajamas and tells me "I want to go outside mom." He always wants to go outside before he eats any breakfast. 2. Naps. He might fight going down for a nap, but he LOVES his naps.  He never wants to wake up in the afternoon. 3. Physical touch.  This is still his top love language.  Elijah is almost 3 and still loves to be held.  He also loves to sit on laps and to wrestle. If you are sitting on the couch alone, you won't be for long with this guy around. Elijah Hates: 1. Potty Training.  He just doesn't want to do it.  End of story. 2. Bedtime at night.  He stall and plays and goofs around sometimes for an hour after Nathan falls asleep. ...

I looked at the forecast yesterday and I was dreading Labor Day. It called for thunder storms and rain. But good news! Labor Day's weather turned out great. Well at least not terrible, it was hot but bearable. I road the boys to parade in their bike trailer. I realized that in about a month Nathan is going to be too big for this trailer :/ I'm working with him to get his legs stronger so he can ride his own bike.  The boys loved the parade. They got tons of candy and Popsicles.  We ended the morning by visiting one of our favorite parks.
