Top ten for Elijah

Elijah's first birthday is 10 days away. So I've decided to do a countdown of the top ten things that make this kid awesome!! Number 10: he eats!!! The number 10 brings to mind to me that he weaned himself of nursing at 10 months. He still takes bottles about 5 times a day. But this baby loves to eat!!! I think he eats twice what Nathan does on a daily basis. And he loves to try new things. I think the only thing he doesn't like are bananas. I think this is my fault as I kind of overdid the bananas for a couple of months there.

He's walking!

Elijah took his first official steps last night. He has been pushing things around our house since he was 10 months, so we foolishly thought he's e walking any day. Yesterday, he was finally ready. He took 5 whole steps on his own.

Elijah's Milestones

I've bee majorly slacking on the blog front.  But I do want to remember to document a big milestone for little Elijah.  He decided to learn to pull up on to furniture.  And last Wednesday, he took 2 whole steps on his own.  He has yet to repeat this feat.  But now he is on a walking mission.  All that he wants to do is have his hands held so he can walk around.  A few days later he also learned to pull up in his crib.

Elijah is 9 months old!

Elijah is 9 months old today! I can hardly believe it! Turns out that 8 months brought alot of new developements for our little guy. New Things Teeth - Elijah finally got his first teeth.  He has his 2 bottom teeth as of right now.  There are 4 on top that are waiting to come in. Moving - It seems like the day that he turned 8 months old Elijah started moving.  He caught onto crawling very easily.  He does the very traditional on his knees crawl unlike his brother.  But more than crawling, Elijah prefers standing.  He loves to have you hold his hands so he can walk.  I think he would let us walk him around everywhere if he could.  It seems he thinks he should skip the crawling step. Feeding - This month Elijah and his pincher grasp got really coordinated.  He now feeds himself like the best of them. Carseat - Elijah outgrew his infant carseat and is now in a convertible seat.  This makes things different when we are out and about....

Hungry man

Despite the fact that Elijah still has no teeth, he likes to believe he can eat everything we have. I've been alot more liberal with him than I was with Nathan. I give him crackers, teething biscuits, and graham crackers. Elijah also eats cereal, one baby food container of meat, and 2-4 jars of fruits and vegetables a day. Still, Elijah seems to think he should be getting more food. Here he is thinking of stealing Nathan's pancake.

Clothing victory

It's a big day! Elijah has worn the same outfit all day without a diaper explosion or getting food all over himself. I don't this has happened in months.

Elijah 6 month update

Elijah is 6 months old! Here's all about Elijah right now Food: Elijah started solid food last month.  I dragged my feet and waited on this, but the little guy is hungry! We now eats about 3 times a day and he likes everything we have tried so far. Rolling: Elijah learned how to roll last month.  The only problem with this is that he still hates to be on his belly.  Here's our pattern now: Elijah rolls onto his belly, Elijah screams and won't roll back over eventhough he can, I flip him back onto his back, Elijah waits about 10 seconds and then rolls back onto his belly.  Repeat this process about 25 times and it's a party. :) Laughing: Elijah loves to laugh and I love to make him laugh.  He is really one of the happiest babies I have ever seen.  Even when I put him to bed he kind of just babbles himself to sleep. Sleep: Elijah is still taking 3 naps a day right now: a one hour nap in early morning, a two hour nap in the late afternoon, and a two ...

He rolls!

Elijah decided that 5 1/2 months was a good time to start consistently rolling over. He likes to roll onto his belly ad kick and pretend he can go somewhere.

3 months old

Wow Elijah is 3 months old!!! He's doing great! Sleeping through the night (7pm-5am) and napping like a champ. Elijah LOVES to lay on the floor and kick his legs. He's got great control of his head. The only thing not going well is his skin, he has eczema and cradle cap. Other than that he is a pleasant little guy. We call him "happy baby." The stats: Weight: 14lb. 7oz. (75%) Length: 24.4 inches (68%) Head: 42cm (75%) Chunky baby :) Tummy time Smiley guy He likes this ball made of towel material. And he loves his baths. Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Elijah: 2 month update

Oops posting fail on my part, I wrote this and didn't post. Oh well. Elijah is 2 months old!!! Likes: Elijah loves having his diaper changed and getting dressed.  His new thing is floor time, not tummy time, just hanging out on the floor and kicking. Dislikes: The verdict is still out about the Baby Bjorn.  I tried to use it again last night, and he was pretty indifferent. Elijah also started not liking bottles as much this month, which is fine because he is with me most of the time.  Daniel put him to bed last night and he took a bottle, but he woke up and wanted to nurse. Sleep: Elijah is a pretty rockstar sleeper.  He takes 4 naps a day: morning (8-10), late morning (11-2ish), afternoon (3-5ish), and a quick evening (5:30-6:30ish).  Because we are in between a 3 and 4 hour schedule, his evening quick nap is kind of weird.  Elijah still puts himself to sleep, I just wait until I see him yawn or he gets fussy then just put him down.  His f...

Elijah is one month old

Elijah is one month old.  Despite that fact that I have yet to write Nathan's 2 year update, I thought I would do this on time. All about Elijah The Good Eating - he's a great eater, and usually only nurses 20 minutes total.  He's gaining weight and getting awesome rolls on his legs and arms. Disposition - Elijah is still very laid back and likes most things.  He especially loves sleeping in his car seat, which is a huge answer to prayer for me! The Cry - A good cry? Yes! Elijah has a sweet little grunty, whiny cry.  Rarely will he wail.  When he does loudly cry I know he really needs something, usually food. Schedule - Elijah is great about spacing out his feedings.  He eats every 2 1/2 to 3 hours.  He also has kind of naturally adapted to following the "eat, play, sleep" schedule that we do. Cloth Diapers - I started using cloth diapers this week.  Elijah is a very heavy wetter, so these have been wonderful, even though they give him a...
