Kickin' it

Baby Goulet has a fun new hobby.... kicking rapid fire style. This started last week, and now has become a common occurrence. Baby Goulet just goes kind of crazy and kicks rapidly in the same spot for about 5 minutes straight, picture the girl from Flash dance running in place while dancing. The first time that it happened I, being over paranoid, thought that he was strangling on his cord and struggling to get free. My over-reaction was quickly gone when I kept feeling him afterwards.
I told Daniel this and he reminded me that even at his 12 week sonogram Baby Goulet moved his limbs rapidly and swam around like crazy.
I've begun to develop other theories about why Baby Goulet has now become a rapid kickster
- his feet get tangled up and he is trying to free them
- he has freakishly long legs and is trying to free them
- he is sending me Morse code
- it's not his feet I'm feeling, its his malformed finger length toes tapping on my stomach
- he's concerned about his weight and is running in place
- he has an internal sense of rhythm and is dancing along to his own tune
- I've eaten one to many freezy pops and pixy sticks and he's either hyper or demanding his hourly dose of processed sugar.

Ode to our awesome friend, Jenna. Jenna is our incredibly funny, caring and all around wonderful neighbor. Not only can she sing, play guitar, have great hair and tie a scarf in 25 different ways, she also can take awesome pictures. Like the pictures that she took of me while I was 9 months pregnant, anyone that can make a hugely pregnant woman look comfortable deserves a medal. Let's just say that Nathan is not the easiest subject to work with. You have to work around the fact that he doesn't focus, has little head control, and favors looking to the right. Labor Induction Technique that does work....

Almost from the day that I found out that I was pregnant, I thought that Jesus told me (weird, I know) that baby Goulet was going to come on October 21st. October 21st is also the anniversary of Daniel and I getting engaged. The year that we got engaged October 21st was sweetest day, so Daniel thought that it was a perfect day to get engaged. Even though I have thought that whole time that I would have a baby on the 21st, I am not a patient woman. And I especially do not like surprises, so the suspense of going in the labor was killing me (see previous posts). On the 20 th , in my quest to go into labor I drank Castor oil. Gross I know, but I mixed it with juice and it wasn't bad. I went for me daily walk, and felt nothing. Within a couple of hours, the Castor oil had kicked in. Castor oil in found at drug stores, and is typically used as a laxative. I can now say from personal experience, that it is a good laxative if you would like to completely clean your bowels out...

Welcome Elijah!

Elijah Spence Goulet is here. The birth was very very different than the first time. But I will say it still hurt like crazy. :) I felt kind of nauseous and bad all day yesterday. I thought something was up. I went for a walk in the afternoon to try to encourage labor and started having Braxton hicks contractions. They didn't hurt at all so I knew they weren't the real thing. My mom made us dinner and I had her put Nathan to bed because I was just too tired to do anything. Around 9:00 I started having contractions exactly 5 minutes apart. They were uncomfortable and not painful so I just used my labor iPhone app and tracks them but didn't say anything to Daniel or my mom. I wasn't sure I was in labor and I didn't want to get us all ready for nothing. This is the part were I add in that I had many many sleepless nights with Nathan in false labor. So I wasn't wanting to go to the hospital until I was sure this was real. I grabbed Daniel at 10:00 and has him go on...
