Fathers

I forgot to write on fathers day. But we celebrated by taking the family to Flat Top Grill. Daniel got pictures of Nathan for his office and orange slices, his favorite.
It has been cool to see the relationship between Daniel and Nathan develop as he has gotten older. Right now, he is quite interested in everything that Daniel does. Like cutting his toe nails. Bonding at his finest.



Nathan also likes drumming on things with daddy. And his favorite is climbing in bed when daddy is sleeping and crawling all over him. No really, it is. he gets so excited that he usually can't crawl anywhere and just jumps up and down. He also likes grabbing daddies face and does so every chance he gets.
Daniel likes making Nathan clap. He also likes taking Nathan for walks around the yard to look at the landscaping. He also likes taking pictures of Nathan. Which is great because it's my goal to start making photo books.

Childbirth, Childbirth everywhere

We attended our first childbirth class last night, an event that neither Daniel or I was looking that forward to. I was hesitant for a few reasons, one being that the minute I put this on the calender THREE MONTHS AGO, other events happening on these specific Mondays have been coming up. Secondly, is that my husband has a condition that happens during every parenting type of class that we go to, lets call it "giggle-at-inappropriate-times disease." It's not that he is not interested in the topics, but for some reason the other parents in the classes that we go to are usually really reserved and quite. So we will sit in silence waiting for the class to begin, sit silently through the class and then leave. Daniel's response to this is to make jokes and laugh throughout the class. Labor Induction Technique that does work....

Almost from the day that I found out that I was pregnant, I thought that Jesus told me (weird, I know) that baby Goulet was going to come on October 21st. October 21st is also the anniversary of Daniel and I getting engaged. The year that we got engaged October 21st was sweetest day, so Daniel thought that it was a perfect day to get engaged. Even though I have thought that whole time that I would have a baby on the 21st, I am not a patient woman. And I especially do not like surprises, so the suspense of going in the labor was killing me (see previous posts). On the 20 th , in my quest to go into labor I drank Castor oil. Gross I know, but I mixed it with juice and it wasn't bad. I went for me daily walk, and felt nothing. Within a couple of hours, the Castor oil had kicked in. Castor oil in found at drug stores, and is typically used as a laxative. I can now say from personal experience, that it is a good laxative if you would like to completely clean your bowels out...
