Poooooop

Warning....this post is about poop.  Going #2.

At three years and two months I think I can say that Nathan is totally potty trained.  He understood peeing in the potty months ago.  But only this past month has he really understood how to poop on the potty.

The past two weeks Nathan has taken a new interest in what his poop looks like.  It began one day when he pooped on the potty during naptime.  He yelled for me to come help him.  When I got to the bathroom Nathan described his poop to me, "It's a daddy poop and a baby poop." He continued making up a story all about his poop.  The daddy poop couldn't wear pants because he didn't have legs.

Since this initial story, Nathan has taken great pleasure in naming his poop.  He finishes pooping, then studies the turds.  He then declares what kind of poop and why.

"That's fairy poop, because it flied right out."
"It's monster poop, cause it scared me."
"It's snake poop."
"It's tiger poop cause it made me say roar."
"It's elephant poop, cause it plopped out."

I guess I just wanted to preserve my child quirkiness forever.   Maybe someday a potential employer will google his name and find this.  It clearly demonstrates his creativity.

  1. That's hilarious! I can only hope that my Nathan will someday come up with his own motivation to poop in the potty, be it stories or what have you.

Growing like a bean

Another brilliant baby idea! :) I thought this would come in handy to measure our little bean. He seems to grow so quickly, this can keep us up to date. It's a baby measuring sheet, just lay babies head in the center and it tells you how long they are. Parents can measure baby from any direction, find more photos and info here.

Childbirth, Childbirth everywhere

We attended our first childbirth class last night, an event that neither Daniel or I was looking that forward to. I was hesitant for a few reasons, one being that the minute I put this on the calender THREE MONTHS AGO, other events happening on these specific Mondays have been coming up. Secondly, is that my husband has a condition that happens during every parenting type of class that we go to, lets call it "giggle-at-inappropriate-times disease." It's not that he is not interested in the topics, but for some reason the other parents in the classes that we go to are usually really reserved and quite. So we will sit in silence waiting for the class to begin, sit silently through the class and then leave. Daniel's response to this is to make jokes and laugh throughout the class. Childbirth class has been no exception to this trend, and I joined him in the giggling this time. Although it hurt so bad to try to hold in my laughter, I began to have tears. All of th...

Labor Induction Technique that does work....

Almost from the day that I found out that I was pregnant, I thought that Jesus told me (weird, I know) that baby Goulet was going to come on October 21st. October 21st is also the anniversary of Daniel and I getting engaged. The year that we got engaged October 21st was sweetest day, so Daniel thought that it was a perfect day to get engaged. Even though I have thought that whole time that I would have a baby on the 21st, I am not a patient woman. And I especially do not like surprises, so the suspense of going in the labor was killing me (see previous posts). On the 20 th , in my quest to go into labor I drank Castor oil. Gross I know, but I mixed it with juice and it wasn't bad. I went for me daily walk, and felt nothing. Within a couple of hours, the Castor oil had kicked in. Castor oil in found at drug stores, and is typically used as a laxative. I can now say from personal experience, that it is a good laxative if you would like to completely clean your bowels out...
